ROBERT TERRY (1955-2021), Hudson River Series
Robert Terry grew up in Eugene, Oregon where he spent much of his time surrounded by nature. He developed a love for the outdoors and sketched landscapes as a young child and had a natural talent which was greatly encouraged by his art teacher, Mike Van. His combined passions for art and nature led him to Mexico after High School where he developed into a landscape artist. After leaving Mexico, Bob attended the Portland Art School, and it became clear to him that New York City was where he needed to be to pursue his art career. He hitchhiked to New York City, and NYC would become the anchor of his professional and artistic career throughout much of his life.
Bob became a recognized artist in the early 1980s and received grants, his work was shown in multiple galleries and universities throughout the United States and Europe. Much of his work reflects his passion for history and nature.
